On the eve of 23rd February 2019, Indus University arranged a formal gathering, widely known as Convocation to confer graduates, postgraduates and Ph.D. Scholars with Degrees. The much-anticipated event began at about 4:30 PM by welcoming the grand procession, incorporating dignitaries and chief guest Shri Aravindan Sitaraman (Chairman and CEO) What is India Publishers Pvt. Ltd., Guest of Honor Mrs. Shrimati Anju Sharma (IAS) Principal Secretary, Education Department, Government of Gujarat, and Distinguished Guest Dr. H Purushotham (CMD) National Research & Development Corporation, New Delhi.
924 students were conferred Degrees on this day. What made this magnificent affair more remarkable was the magnetic presence of our President, Dr. Nagesh Bhandari and Mrs. Ritu Bhandari, Executive President (Vice-Chancellor) Prof. (Dr.) M Muruganant, Registrar Dr. R. K. Singh, Board of Management, Members of Board of Governance, Heads of the Departments, faculty members, parents, students, and press.
2nd Convocation 2017
Indus University held its Second Convocation on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Indus Campus, Ahmedabad. On this auspicious occasion, Shri. Pankaj Patel, Chairman, Zydus Cadila, was the invited Chief Guest accompanied by other distinguished personalities of various fields, who blessed the students of the university with their presence.
In the second convocation 736 students of year 2013-17 received degrees in the field of B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, MSc.IT, B.Sc(AM) and B.Arch. In total, 26 Gold medals were awarded by the Chief Guest. Special awards for scholastic performance namely Bhanwarlal Bhandari Memorial Award, Bhagwan Swaroop Sharma Memorial Award and Indubala Bhandari Award were awarded to students of various institutes of the university.
The Chief Guest, Shri. Pankaj Patel, Chairman, Zydus Cadila delivered the convocation address. Dr.Nagesh Bhandari, President, Indus University delivered the welcome address and Maj.Gen. Dr. S.S. Dasaka, Executive President, Indus University gave the concluding address. Shri. Pankaj Patel emphasized on building a sense of entrepreneurial aptitude to cope with the revolution which these young graduates are witness to, taking place due to ‘democratization’ of knowledge and as future torch bearers of this nation, they must seize this opportunity.
Elation and unbound joy marked the occasion wherein the dreams of young graduates and their parents bore reality through the conferment of prestigious titles.
1st Convocation 2016
“India needs a skilled generation that can comprehend the changing scenario and address the issues of sustainable development” says ISRO Chairman, Padmashri A.S. Kirankumar in his address at the First Convocation of Indus University held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Indus Campus, Ahmedabad. Padmashri A.S. Kirankumar was the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion.
In the first convocation 256 graduating students, of M.Tech. MBA, MCA, M.Sc.IT, and B.Sc. (AM) courses who passed out in years 2014 and 2015, received the degrees. Fourteen Gold medals were awarded by the Chief Guest. In addition, special awards; Bhanwarlal Bhandari Memorial Award, Bhagwan Swaroop Sharma Memorial Award and Indubala Bhandari Award, for scholastic performances were also given away to 6 students of various institutes of the University.
Shri A.S. Kirankumar delivered the convocation address and Dr.Nagesh Bhandari, President, Indus University delivered the welcome address while Dr. S.B. Sharma, Executive President, Indus University delivered the concluding speech.
