Anti-Ragging Squad

The “Anti Ragging Squad” is specialized and dedicated to preventing and addressing ragging, which refers to any form of harassment, bullying, or abuse experienced by students, particularly the new students. The role of this committee is to foster a positive and respectful atmosphere within the university.

The primary responsibilities: -

  • To conduct extensive awareness campaigns to educate students about the consequences and harmful effects of ragging.
  • To receive complaints from students and initiate prompt investigations. The committee ensures confidentiality, sensitivity and fairness throughout the investigation process.
  • The committee takes appropriate disciplinary actions against the perpetrators.
  • Regular Monitoring and survey the campus environment to find any ragging activities, and coordinate with hostel wardens.

The Anti-Ragging Committee serves as a beacon of hope and protection for students, promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and zero tolerance for ragging, both physical and psychological, thereby safeguarding the dignity and well-being of every student.

The Key objectives of the Anti-Committee

  • Formulating and implementing policies and guidelines to prevent and combat ragging on campus.
  • Conducting regular awareness campaigns and orientation sessions to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the disciplinary consequences associated with it.
  • Conducting prompt and impartial investigation in to reported incidents, take appropriate disciplinary actions against the perpetrators.

Women's Development Cell

In an effort to promote well-being of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of Indus University to deal with cases/complaints of sexual harassment and to implement the women's policies in general a Women Development Cell has been constituted in Indus University. This is in compliance with the directions issued by the UGC and MHRD.

Objective:
WDC focuses on gender-sensitization in the organization which aims at creating a harmonious environment for women on campus.

Role & Functions:

  1. To provide forums for discourse and dispute regarding any Kind of harassment which includes sexual harassment instances at the institute.
  2. To encourage discussion on women's rights and gender-related issues.
  3. To organize symposiums, workshops, expert talks and other related activities on awareness about women's safety.
  4. To invite varied NGOs and Government organizations for participation in different activities organized by the institution.
  5. To become a resource Centre for women and provide a forum for exchange of ideas.
  6. To review safety and security measures for female employees and girl students at Indus University campus.

Objective:
WDC focuses on gender-sensitization in the organization which aims at creating a harmonious environment for women on campus.

Role & Functions:

  1. To provide forums for discourse and dispute regarding any Kind of harassment which includes sexual harassment instances at the institute.
  2. To encourage discussion on women's rights and gender-related issues.
  3. To organize symposiums, workshops, expert talks and other related activities on awareness about women's safety.
  4. To invite varied NGOs and Government organizations for participation in different activities organized by the institution.
  5. To become a resource Centre for women and provide a forum for exchange of ideas.
  6. To review safety and security measures for female employees and girl students at Indus University campus.

  • Evaluating the necessary, budgetary implications, and alignment with university goals for each purchase.
