Admission to the B.Tech Defence Aerospace Engineering + DGCA AME programme is conducted based on entrance examination scores and merit according to university admission policies.
Eligible candidates may apply through the university admission portal or visit the campus for counseling and admission guidance.
B.Tech Defence Aerospace Engineering (AME) at Indus University is a unique and specialized 4-year undergraduate program that combines aerospace engineering principles with defence aviation and aircraft maintenance engineering. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in India's defence sector, including the Indian Air Force, Army Aviation, Navy Aviation, DRDO, HAL, and allied defence aerospace organizations, while also providing eligibility for DGCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licensing.
B.Tech Defence Aerospace Engineering (AME) at Indus University is one of the very few programs in India that uniquely blends defence aerospace studies with Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) training. Students gain knowledge of military aircraft systems, defence avionics, missile systems, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), radar systems, and combat aircraft maintenance — along with DGCA module training for civil AME licensure. This dual-track approach gives graduates a competitive advantage in both civil and defence aviation careers.
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks. Admission is based on JEE Main scores, GUJCET, or the Indus University Entrance Test (IUET). Students with NDA (National Defence Academy) background or defence family backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. Physical fitness and medical standards may be assessed as part of the admission process for the defence specialization track.
Graduates of B.Tech Defence Aerospace Engineering (AME) from Indus University can pursue careers in the Indian Air Force (as technical officers or Short Service Commission officers), Indian Army Aviation Corps, Indian Naval Air Arm, DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited), ISRO, Ordnance Factories, Frontier Defence Industries, civil aviation MRO organizations, and international defence contractors. With AME license, graduates can also work in commercial aviation.
