Planet Parade 2025: A Sky Gazing Event

On January 28, 2025, AstroClub, iSAC, and the Department of Physics, IISHLS organized an exciting Sky Gazing Event – "Planet Parade 2025" using the Celestron Advanced VX 8-inch Newtonian Telescope. This rare celestial event featured an alignment of planets stretching from Venus in the west to Mars in the east. Despite initial cloud cover, the night turned into a remarkable experience, offering breathtaking views of planetary wonders. Participants observed Venus, which dazzled with its crescent phase, Jupiter, standing out with its bright and dominant presence, and Mars, displaying its striking reddish hue. The event attracted students, faculty members (some accompanied by family), and external visitors, all eager to witness the celestial spectacle. AstroClub members enriched the experience with detailed explanations on planetary phases, orbital motions, and celestial mechanics, making the event both educational and awe-inspiring

Certificate Course on Ayurveda and Nutrition

The Department of Health Sciences, IISHLS, organized a 4-day Certificate Course on Ayurveda and Nutrition to provide valuable insights into traditional health practices. The course featured expert sessions by distinguished professionals, including Mr. Vipul Patel, Lambda CRO, Dr. Paritosh Bhatt, MD and Ayurveda Expert, and Dr. Hemaxi Jogi, Naturopathy Expert. The sessions covered various aspects of Ayurveda, Nutrition, and Naturopathy, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of holistic health. A total of 46 students and faculty members actively participated in the certificate course, benefiting from the expertise shared by the renowned speakers.

Hands-on Training on Computational Design & Optimization of Semiconductors

The Department of Physics, IISHLS, organized a four-day Hands-on Training Program on "Computational Design and Optimization of Semiconductors" from January 21-24, 2025. The program saw enthusiastic participation from 27 attendees, including students and research scholars from IITE, IICT, WIIA, IISHLS, and other institutions within and outside Indus University. Participants engaged in insightful sessions covering Current Research Trends in Semiconductors and Future Advancements. A special session by Mr. Anil Sharma from Setfos provided valuable insights into computational tools used for modern semiconductor device design. In the final session, participants explored the Fundamentals of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and gained hands-on experience in Simulating and Visualizing ZnO 3D Structures using the SIESTA Open-Source Package. The program proved to be an enriching experience, equipping attendees with advanced computational skills in semiconductor research.
