Clinical Research In Drugs And Vaccines Developments

Clinical research on vaccines involves the rigorous testing and evaluation of potential vaccines to ensure their safety, efficacy, and suitability for widespread use in preventing infectious diseases. Here's a general overview of the clinical research process for vaccines:

  1. Preclinical Studies: Before vaccines are tested in humans, they undergo extensive laboratory and animal testing to assess their safety and effectiveness. These studies help researchers identify promising vaccine candidates and provide initial data on their potential benefits.
  2. Phase 1 Clinical Trials: Phase 1 trials involve a small number of healthy volunteers and primarily focus on evaluating the safety of the vaccine candidate. Researchers also assess the vaccine's dosage and its ability to stimulate an immune response.
  3. Phase 2 Clinical Trials: In Phase 2 trials, the vaccine is tested in a larger group of volunteers, typically several hundred individuals. These trials further evaluate the vaccine's safety, dosage, and ability to generate an immune response. They may also provide initial data on the vaccine's efficacy.
  4. Phase 3 Clinical Trials: Phase 3 trials are large-scale studies involving thousands to tens of thousands of volunteers. These trials aim to confirm the vaccine's safety, efficacy, and optimal dosage in diverse populations. Participants are usually randomly assigned to receive either the vaccine or a placebo, allowing researchers to compare outcomes between the two groups.
  5. The Department of Health Science, IISHLS, conducted an industrial visit to Amul Dairy in Anand, Gujarat, on August 09, 2024, for students from Clinical Research, Microbiology, BA English, and Psychology programs. This visit offered students a valuable opportunity to explore the food industry, focusing on providing a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments and technologies in milk collection, processing, preservation, packaging, distribution, and the manufacturing of over 50 milk products.

Industrial Visit

The Department of Health Science, IISHLS, conducted an industrial visit to Amul Dairy in Anand, Gujarat, on August 09, 2024, for students from Clinical Research, Microbiology, BA English, and Psychology programs. This visit offered students a valuable opportunity to explore the food industry, focusing on providing a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments and technologies in milk collection, processing, preservation, packaging, distribution, and the manufacturing of over 50 milk products.

Industrial Visit

The Department of Chemistry-IISHLS visited Munna International Dye Chem, Mayur Dye Intermediate, and Bhagwati Organics in Vatva, Ahmedabad, on August 03, 2024. A total of 25 students participated in the visit, where they gained valuable insights into dyes, the manufacturing process, drying techniques, intermediate products, and glassware manufacturing.B.Sc. and M.Sc. chemistry students attended this industrial visit to enhance their practical knowledge and understanding of real-life applications in chemistry. We extend our gratitude to the management for providing this excellent opportunity.
