Department Activities

Indus University Develops Smart Model for Early Crop Disease Detection

Researchers at Indus University have created a Matrix Theory–based smart model that helps in the early detection of crop diseases, enabling farmers to take timely action and reduce losses. The model uses mathematical and computational techniques to predict disease risks based on crop and environmental data.This research, led by Rootvesh Mehta, Assistant Professor, Mathematics Department offers both economic and environmental benefits, supporting smarter and more sustainable agriculture.

Academic & Industrial Visit

The Department of Chemistry, ISHLS, successfully organized an academic and industrial visit on October 10, 2025, in association with Vigyan Gurjari. A total of 27 students from B.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Chemistry, and Clinical Research programs visited NIPER, Ahmedabad and Sahajanand Laser Technology Ltd., Gandhinagar.The visit offered hands-on exposure to pharmaceutical sciences, advanced instrumentation, and medical technology, enriching students’ practical learning experience.

Guest Lecture on Applications of Statistics in AI, ML, and Data Science

The Department of Mathematics, IISHLS organized a guest lecture on “Applications of Statistics in AI, ML and Data Science” on 25th September 2025 The session was delivered by Dr. Poonam Mishra, Associate Professor & Dean, IQAC, PDEU, Gandhinagar. Over 80 students attended the lecture, gaining valuable insights into the fundamentals, impact, and future scope of Artificial Intelligence.
