Indus Design School (IDS) was established to meet the expanding demand for a rigorous, well-structured education in design. Ahmedabad, one of India's most historically and culturally significant cities, is where IDS is situated. The comprehensive knowledge development curriculum is organised to offer in-depth, progressive learning in design creation and successfully guide students through the essential steps of the design process, which vary between design disciplines. Design is a stream that heavily emphasises skills. Hence IDS implements the "learning by doing" method beginning in the foundation year. Our curriculum offers practical design classes led by knowledgeable teachers. For the finest educational experience, students and faculty at Indus Design School have access to the best tools and technologies of industry standards.

Vision And Mission of IDS

Vision And Mission of IDS

The decolonisation of design thinking and design development is a crucial and highly regarded notion, and Indus Design School is the only design school in India to use it. We want our students to understand the indigenous design principles held by indigenous groups not only in India but also around the world. The focus on decolonising design does not come at the expense of international exposure, which is essential for success in a design setting. The goal of IDS is to create a GLOCAL model of education through the harmonious fusion of international best practices in design with indigenous design applications from India.

We encourage our students to make mistakes and to value those failures, fostering the belief that we learn better together than we do alone. Instead of placing an excessive emphasis on results, we make sure that the students internalise the design learning and design thinking processes. Our goal is to develop our students holistically in their disciplines so they may succeed in the long run. We also want to foster a free-thinking environment where design students can connect with one another and their work. Indus Design School reinforces its dedication to reinventing the learning process through a pure learning-by-doing methodology, which is only possible when you make it your mission to prioritise the process over the outcome in the early stages of professional development.
