B.Pharm Course Details

B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) degree is a job-focused graduate degree to work with Pharmaceutical sectors. The B.Pharm programme lasts four years and eight semesters. Due to its broad scope and numerous job options, the B.Pharm degree is one of the most sought-after degrees. The B.Pharm curriculum includes all parts of healthcare that relate to the creation of medications and their use in accurate diagnosis. Students learn about a broad range of subjects including Pharmaceutical Technology, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Phytopharmaceutical, Pharmacology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacy Management etc.

The course provides a comprehensive theoretical and applied understanding of pharmaceuticals and aids in the development of all the skills required to advise patients on the use of medications and drugs. The programme combines theory lessons in related fields with a variety of practical experiments. The Pharmacy Council of India [PCI], a statutory body governed by the conditions of the Pharmacy Act passed by the Indian Parliament, regulates pharmacy education and practice in India up to the graduate level.The B.Pharm Program at Indus Institute of Pharmacy and Research was established in 2022. It is dedicated to give the students the setting and assistance they need for career preparation and growth. The program is concerned with providing academic and extracurricular opportunities.

Admission Process

Admission process is as per ACPC. Students must have completed Class 12 or the equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognised board in order to get admission to this course.

Eligibility

Students must have completed their 10+2 in the Science stream in order to pursue a B.Pharm.

At the 10+2 level, applicants must have studied Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics.

Expert Talk on "Role of Quality Assurance in the Pharmaceutical Industry"

Indus Institute of Pharmacy & Research organized an expert talk on August 30, 2024, for B. Pharm. students. Mr. Abhijit Bodhe, Deputy General Manager – Quality Assurance at Intas Pharmaceuticals, delivered an insightful session on the "Role of Quality Assurance in the Pharmaceutical Industry." He explained how QA is involved at every stage of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to the final product release, and discussed its wide scope in the industry. The session provided valuable guidance to more than 50 B. Pharm. students in shaping their career paths.

Exploring India's Ancient Medical Heritage: A Talk on Indian Ancient Scientists in Medicine at SIF 2024

IIMS organized an Expert Talk on "Indian Power Sector (Amrutkal): Strategic Vision of 2047," delivered by Mr. Samik Patel, Group Head of IMD O&M at TATA Power on August 14,2024. During the session, Mr. Patel discussed several key strategies for the future of the Indian power sector, including sustaining power generation, adopting a mixed strategy, ensuring flexible operations, and optimizing efficiency within the industry. The session was highly informative and benefited 60 students from various programs, including BBA, MBA, BCOM, and IMBA.

Thalassemia Awareness and Testing Camp

On July 25, the Indus Institute of Pharmacy and Research (IIPR) at Indus University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross and the NSS Unit, hosted a Thalassemia Awareness and Testing Camp. The event aimed to educate attendees about Thalassemia, a genetic disorder that can be prevented through awareness and testing. Proactive measures, including pre-marital testing to identify carriers, are crucial in the fight against Thalassemia. The camp provided low-cost testing for students and their friends, promoting early detection and prevention of Thalassemia minor.
