B.Tech Aircraft Maintenance Course Details

The technical discipline known as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is concerned with maintaining and fixing problems with aircraft. We are the 1st AME institute in Gujarat, and offer a four-year undergraduate degree in aircraft maintenance engineering which has a variety of job options in the aviation industry. The aircraft maintenance engineering syllabus covers both theoretical and applied knowledge of the principles. Engineering for aircraft maintenance is an option for those who desire to work in the technical branch of aviation industry. Entrance tests is conducted for engineering admission, which may or may not be merit-based depending on the university. An Aircraft maintenance engineer can work in the public and commercial sectors after completing the training.

The number of chances in the field has increased dramatically due to the expansion of the aviation sector. At the graduate and postgraduate levels, universities all over the world today offer a wide variety of courses, such as aeronautical engineering, aviation management, and aerospace engineering. Numerous technologies are used to ensure the safety of the passengers and the proper operation of the aircraft. While creating a massive aeroplane like the Airbus is undoubtedly a feat of engineering, maintaining one is a laborious undertaking. One such curriculum that imparts knowledge and gives students the skills they need to ensure the proper operation of diverse aircraft is the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) programme.

These courses are in association with WIIA - A DGCA Approved Institute.

Admission Process

Entrance exams are the only method of admission for the AME programme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To comprehend numerous engineering topics and apply them to engineering/industrial challenges, use fundamental physics concepts and principles.
  • Effective communication in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in various contexts.
  • To apply the fundamental ideas and principles of Aircraft Technology in a variety of contexts while valuing interpersonal relationships and acting morally in a work setting.
  • To describe various environmental challenges associated with Aircraft industries and reduce time durations while working in the field.
  • To use different technical concepts and principles to comprehend engineering concepts and apply the same to engineering/industrial challenges.

Electronic Fundamentals: The terms power, current, energy, and voltage are all part of the concept of electronics. There, you can learn about electronic machines, systems, and components.

Digital Methods System of electronic instruments: Digital Methods The study of digital signals is a focus of the electronics discipline known as Electronic Instrument System.

Maintenance procedures: Regular tools, inspections, partial and total overhauls, oil changes and lubrication, etc., are all part of maintenance procedures.

Basic Aerodynamics: The study of gas dynamics, or the interaction between moving objects and the atmosphere that results in airflow throughout the body.

Aviation Legislation: Aviation law is a subset of the law that regulates air transport and flights. That has to do with international law, which is necessary because of things like nature or air transport.

Aerodynamics, Systems, and Structures: How an aeroplane can fly is related to aerodynamics, structures, and systems. Aerodynamics affects everything that is moving through the air.

Variety of experiments are conducted in various laboratories like Aerodynamics, Aircraft Engine Propulsion, Avionics, Aircraft Controls and Navigation,  Aircraft Structure, Rocket Propulsion, Helicopter Engineering, Aircraft Manufacturing, Aircraft Maintenance, Aircraft Design, Aeromodeling etc.

Workshops, Skill development programmes

We conduct workshops of Aeromodelling, model rocketry as a part of skill development programs. Moreover, we invite known experts from variety of Aviation and Aeronautical industries. We also conduct soft skill development programs as well for overall personality development of a student.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer: An aeroplane's electrical systems must be in good working order for it to be able to take off and land safely, according to an aircraft maintenance engineer.

Trainers: They are in charge of educating pupils about AME Avionics' scope and curriculum.

Defense Aircraft Maintenance Engineer: Engineers who maintain defence aircraft's electrical systems are known as defence aircraft maintenance engineers.

Line Maintenance Mechanics: In accordance with recommendations from the fight engineers, these engineers are responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of all aircraft components. They typically perform emergency work at airfields.

Overhaul Mechanics: These engineers perform the planned maintenance on aircraft as overhaul mechanics. They typically do their job at hangars or other locations where planes are kept. After accumulating the required amount of flight hours, they check, test, and maintain an aircraft.

Indus University has an autonomous vertical - Training & Placement Department (T & P Dept.) - that connects two vital ends: education and the industry. It exemplifies a link between schools and university constituent associations (entry-level input) and the sector (output-end at the finishing level).

The Training and Placement Department was established in 2006. It was previously affiliated with the Indus Institute of Technology & Engineering until becoming a part of the Indus University in 2012.

The Training and Placement Department is the hub for career assistance for students from all programmes and streams at the university. It provides students with overall career solutions by encouraging them to choose and pursue their ideal vocations.
