National Webinar on "Free Space Optical Communication"

September 30, 2021

“Internet”, The essential commodities of modern life, has seen exponential increase in usage over the last few years due to the digital revolution happening around us. Optical Fibre Internet is faster than average broadband speeds, cost-effective, safe, high speed download capability and it is more reliable than copper and far more stable than Wireless mobile connectivity . However, Optical Fiber Installation is typically expensive due to the requirement for huge infrastructure investment. Radio frequency communications is currently the technology of choice to avoid these issues but requires expensive licenses to use a few bands of a scarce and strictly regulated spectrum. Free space optical (FSO) communication can provide high-bit-rate line-of-sight transmissions over long distances of up to several kilometers over a broad unlicensed spectrum.

Department of Electronics and Communication with the aim to explain the basic design process of FSO System is organizing a National Webinar on “Free Space Optical Communication” on 30th Sept 2021 | 10:00 AM

The webinar is intended to discuss basics of the FSO system, recent research breakthroughs, technical advancement, and new findings in field of Free Space Optical Communication.

There are no registration fees for the webinar. The program pre-registration is mandatory on the following link. Seats are limited and will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Participants will get an E-certificate.
