Department of Computer Science, IIICT has organized a workshop on “Agile Scrum framework and JIRA” on 10th April, 2021 during 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM under the Association of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Expert talk was started with opening remarks given by Dr. Akshara Dave, faculty coordinator, ACSIT. Expert of the session was Ms. Aastha Singh, Senior consultant/ Team Lead /Technical Scrum Master in Capgemini.She has been associated with IT consulting, technology , professional, and outsourcing services for all 9.7 years.

She has worked as Java developer for the initial 4 years of her career, and now working on Liferay Web portal from the past 6 years. Her current work at Capgemini involves planning, management, development and implementation of concurrent enterprise-wide solutions in a highly demanding and constantly technical environment, end to end development of software products. She is a certified Liferay Developer and a Professional Scrum Master.

Ms. Aastha initiated the workshop with the introduction of Agile methodology and comparison with other methodologies, How agile works, What is the role of requirement changes in agile, Product backlog, Sprint backlog, JIRA Terms, JIRA versions, Role of people etc. A hands-On session on JIRA was also explained by her performing : Creating a project, linking the document, user stories, analyze it, and publish it

Ms. Aastha also compared the JIRA tool with other project management tools. She also explained students on various certification courses available on Scrum. She guided the students on how they can apply for the certification and how they can make their career as a scrum master. She also cleared various myths on a career with project management. The questions from students were intellectual and were answered in a satisfactory way by the expert.
The session was ended with the thank you note presented.
