Expert Session – Seminar On ‘Electrical Drives’
On 15th March 2019, Electrical Engineering department along with Indus Electrical Engineering Student Association (i-EESA) organized a half-day seminar on Electrical Drives in MBA Seminar Hall.
The session was delivered by Dr. Ragavan K. (Associate professor, Electrical engineering department, IIT Gandhinagar). He has pursued Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and currently has 13 years of ground experience in his field. His lecture was specially arranged for 6th and 4th-semester students, wherein he discussed at length about DC & AC Drive, their characteristics, and control methodologies used. He also explained some latest control techniques for drives used for electric vehicles. While this practical session proved to be a boon for 6th-semester students, 4th-semester students gained basic knowledge about the subject, understanding the electric motor behavior and its characteristics. A large number of students attended the session. Overall, the whole seminar was highly engaging and lively as expected from such a prominent personality.
