MoU — Indus University & Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre

The Memorandum of Understanding between Indus University and Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre is signed on 18th October 2021 at GBRC campus, Gandhinagar for not only to undertake conduct cutting-edge research in the frontier areas of biotechnology but also leading to product, prototype & process development with application in healthcare, agriculture, environment, marine etc. As GBRC is also acting as a state-of-art shared laboratory facility by extending its infrastructure to other research organization, Institutions, Industries and students for their research purposes. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Prof. Dr. V.K Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, Indus University and Prof. Chaitanya. G. Joshi, Director, Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre, Gandhinagar.

Prof. Dr. V.K Srivastava (Vice Chancellor, Indus University) in his opening remarks thanked Prof. Chaitanya G. Joshi, Director, GBRC, for inviting him to GBRC campus and other dignitaries of Indus University for attending the meeting. He thanked GBRC for their open heartedness in collaborating with Indus University. He gave a brief overview of the University and currently ongoing research activities, diversity in academic’s program, future programs and also spoke about the scope of collaboration in research, innovation and outreach with GBRC in the long days to come. During his lab visits, he urged the young researchers and scientists of GBRC to think creatively and to come up with a big and radical, innovative ideas which can be taken up as a research work for PhD. He also encouraged them to pursue PhD from Indus University.

Prof. Chaitanya G Joshi, Director General, GBRC gave a brief appraisal about MOU and its different projects. He also discussed about the research activities and its various applications in the field of agriculture, environment, Healthcare and marine.

The objective of the MOU/ academic collaboration is to make effective research education and other linkages created by the synergies between the Indus University and GBRC for the benefits of students, academics, communities and social activities etc.  The MoU signing function ended with vote of thanks to all the members for their participation at the meeting.
