Training & Awareness Program on First Aid & Basic Life Support

‘Healthcare is vital to all of us some of the time, but public health is vital to all of us all the time.’ With this noble intention, Indus University organized Training & Awareness Program on First Aid & Basic Life Support for Teaching/Non-Teaching Staff Members, organized by Mechanical Engineering & Clinical Research Departments in association with K.D.  Hospital, Ahmedabad, under Extension Education Cell of the university on 30th October 2021. 

The guest speakers from K.D. Hospital Ahmedabad were Dr. Suhani Patel & Dr. Vivek Ambalia, Consultants Emergency Medicine along with other staff members who demonstrated the technique of CPR- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation which is a lifesaving technique that’s useful in many emergencies, such as a heart attack or near drowning, in which someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped.  The interactive training session also allowed participants to perform the CPR on the mannequin, which helped everyone to understand various stages leading to prevention of cardiac arrest to save a life.  The teaching/non-teaching staff members of Indus University were also able to resolve their doubts regarding pertinent information regarding such an emergency situation.  The program was a huge success with thorough participation from the members of Indus University.   

The program was planned under the leadership & guidance of Prof.Dr. V.K. Srivastava, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor & Executive President of Indus University.  It was graced by the presence of Dr. R.K.Singh, Registrar IU, Dr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Dean Academics IU, & Dr. Sujoy Chaudhary, Dean IITE along with deans of various institutions, heads of the departments, teaching/non-teaching staff members of Indus University.  Dr. Mamta Pillai, Dean (i/c) Extension Education extended special gratitude to Dr. Dhiren Patel, the Main Coordinator for this event from Mechanical Engineering department to have initiated such a program with utmost sincerity & earnestness and members from Clinical Research department to have assisted in overall smooth coordination. The training session was a huge success with thorough participation from the members of Indus University.
