The Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi approved Indus University B-Architecture programme held it’s first batch 2012 Induction Programme on the 1 ^st of August, 2012. The Ahmedabad based Indus University is starting the programme under the name of Institute of Design Environment and Architecture (IDEA).

The Induction Programme a one day activity was done with an objective of facilitating the relationship with the student and introducing them to the university environment. The session was graced by Prof. Pradyuman Vyas, the Director of National Institute of Design as the chief guest. The special invitee to the forum also included the Patron Dr. Nagesh Bhandari, Associate Patron Mrs. Ritu Bhandari, Vice Chancellor Dr. D.P Giridhar, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Kalpesh Parikh of Indus University, Dr. S.B. Sharma, Dean of Research & Development & Director of Indus Institute of Technology & Engineering. The chief guest inspired them to be innovative and rise to the demand of the nation for the low cost housing and green, eco-friendly architect.

The programme also consisted of session of introduction and interaction of the student with the HOD and faculties of B-Arch. They briefed them about the requirement of B-Arch. and the practical approach and creative thinking that is required in this branch.

A motivational video was screened which was prepared by the engineering students of IITE. A melodious song recital by students of IITE was also an indication that Indus goes for the overall development of the student and nurtures talent.

The overwhelming presence of the parent and students was motivating to the faculty as they start the session from 6^th August 2012.
