Indus University organizes a workshop on Entrepreneurship:
Creating and Leading Entrepreneurial Organization On 25 th January, 2013
Indus University, Department of Management in association with Pearson Education organized a workshop on Entrepreneurship on 25th January, 2013.The workshop was a huge success with more than 50 faculties from different institutes across Gujarat participating in a whole day activity.
The workshop began by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries like Dr. D. P. Girdhar, Hon’ble Executive President of Indus University; Mrs. Ritu Bandhari, Associate Patron; Chief Guest – Mr. Kunal Upadhyay CEO,CIIE-IIMA for the inaugural session and Keynote speaker – Prof. Arya Kumar. Dean, Student Welfare Division and Chief Entrepreneurship Development & IPR Unit, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani.
Mr. Kunal Upadhyay who inaugurated the workshop with his inspirational words like “Follow your passion in life” and “If you are given a choice between an easy and difficult path, go for difficult path”. He advised not to depend on bookish knowledge alone but should go for practical exploration. He also said that one should develop soft skills.
Keynote speaker Prof. Arya Kumar who is the author of the book Entrepreneurship: Creating and Leading Entrepreneurial Organization – published in the year 2012 by Pearson Education. In his book he said “entrepreneurship is opportunity obsessed with the goal of creating value without regard to resources currently controlled”. In the session he enlightened the importance of entrepreneurial leadership and the passion that one should posses to follow it against all odds. He talked about the important aspects of entrepreneurship. He gave suggestions to the participants (who were faculties from various colleges) regarding teaching techniques of entrepreneurship.
The workshop had interactive session where participants asked their queries to Prof. Arya Kumar. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks and certificate distribution from the department of management.
