One Day Workshop on “Big Data”
Big Data workshop for the students of CE, CSE and IT (SEM 3,5 & 7) was held on 20th September 2019 at 9:00 am, in the MBA Seminar Hall, Main Building. 55 students registered for the said workshop.
The programme began at 9:00 am with the welcome address by a student of 7th semester CE. As a part of tradition, the it was followed by the Lamp Lightening Ceremony accompanied by Saraswati Vandana.
The Head of the Department of Computer Engineering Department- Dr. Seema Mahajan, motivated and appraised the students for their active participation in the event organized by the Department. Prof. Naiswita Parmar further gave a brief introduction to the workshop and then began with the first session on Introduction to Big Data. This session gave brief idea about what is big data, drivers for big data, Hadoop architecture and MapReduce Framework.
The programme then continued with the hands-on session conducted by Prof. Mohammed Hussain Bohara, Charusat University. In this session, the students practiced how to practically deal and manage big data. Later on, Prof. Mohammed Hussain Bohara took the session ahead on NoSQL Database.
