Guidelines for Admission Ph.D Programmes

Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. (Full Time & Part Time)

Applications are invited for admission to the below mentioned disciplines,

• Engineering Streams: Automobile / Civil / Computer Science / Computer Eng. / Electronics and Comm. Eng./ Electrical Eng. / Mechanical Eng. /Metallurgical

• Science & Humanities Stream: Physics / Chemistry/ Mathematics / English

• Management Stream: Management (Areas: Human Resources /Marketing/ Finance / Information Systems / Operations /Retail Management/ Business Strategy/Family Business / Tourism & Hospitality / Healthcare / Mass Communication / Commerce / Design Management).

  1. Applicants fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria will be required to take Indus University Research Aptitude Test (IURAT) and appear for a personal interview (PI).
  2. The Research Aptitude Test will comprise of two sections, one section on Research Methodology & Communication Skills and the other in the respective domain. The test paper will have computer based multiple-choice type questions. Duration of the test will be of one hour thirty minutes.
  3. During the Personal Interview(PI), the candidate will be required to make a presentation for about 10 to 15 minutes on the main theme of the proposed research, which will be followed by an interview by the panel. The Doctoral Research Committee (DRC) will test the potential of the applicant for carrying out research
  4. Based on the academic / research / industrial record and the performance of the applicant in IURAT & PI, the DRC will recommend names of suitable candidates to the Executive President (Vice Chancellor) through Apex Research Committee (ARC)/Dean
  5. Successful candidates will be informed of their selection through their email ID within two weeks from the date of IURAT &PI.
  6. Candidates who have qualified UGC/NET/ CSIR/ and M.Phil. will be exempted from the entrance

Minimum period of study and research shall not be less than 3 years for full-time and 4 years for part-time from the date of provisional registration of the candidate. However, in case of exceptional performance, the period can be reduced with the recommendations of the ARC and approval of the competent authority from the University.

Research assistantships, limited in number, may be available to full time research scholars, based on recommendation of ARC /

Note: In addition to the above credits all the admitted research scholars will undertake mandatory to two credit courses on Research and Publication Ethics.

The note should be a description of the proposed research. This note is to be submitted along with the application form.

The note should cover the area of topic of your research interest. During the Personal Interview, you are expected to make a presentation for about 10 to 15 minutes based on this

Payment of amount as mentioned above may be made through either DD/cheque in favour of ‘Indus University’, payable at Ahmedabad 

Mode of online Payment:

Online payment mode through University Web Portal using the following link. https://webfront.payu.in/webfront/#/payment/webfrontpage/indus-university/single/529

    1. All the applicants will download the application form and submit the same with supporting testimonials and demand draft /online payment receipt and send it by India speed post only to, The OSD Research, Indus University, Indus Campus, Rancharda, Via Thaltej Shilaj Road Ahmedabad 382115. The duly filled application form should reach the university by 31st August 2020.
    2. Date and time of entrance exam shall be communicated to you by 5th September 2020.
