The mechanical department organized a five-day workshop on welding technology in mid-march. Students learned the fundamentals of electric arc welding and later, practiced different approaches (up to 3F and 3G) in welding, to get the theoretical and practical grip on the same. Welding is a widely used skill offering opportunities in the fabrication and construction industries. It empowers students to become entrepreneurs or work as freelancers. Looking at the versatility welding field has to offer, students were taken to ‘keepsake skill development and research center’ at L.D Engineering College, Ahmedabad to provide hands-on experience. The workshop was helpful and illuminating.
